Dandelion Coffee
Ingredients

Dandelion Coffee

1tsp roasted dandelion root per cup
-
200ml boiling water
-
Plant milk, e.g. oat, almond, cashew, coconut (optional, shop bought or home-made – see below for the ingredients and recipe for almond or cashew)

Plant Milk

Handful of almonds or cashew nuts (preferably soaked in water for 4 hours)
-
250ml water
-
Pinch of Himalayan salt (optional)
-
1 date (optional)

Equipment

Sieve or a cafetière
-
Milk frother (optional)
-
Blender (for making the plant milk)

Instructions​

Dandelion Coffee
-
Boil the water
-
Place the dandelion root into the cafetière
-
Pour the water over the dandelion root
-
Leave to stand for 3 minutes
-
Press down the cafetière plunger
-
Enjoy your coffee black or have it like a flat white by simply adding plant milk or make it cappuccino style by adding frothed milk

Plant Milk
-
Place all the ingredients into a blender
-
Blend for 2 minutes
-
Sieve the mixture to remove any remaining nut pieces
-
The strained plant milk can be kept refrigerated
